The ability to pass on a question in your review queue.

Inline answers in the notification bar

From Xianhang Zhang: in the notifications, if someone has written an answer to a question you followed, the answer should be viewable from the front page, instead of having to click on the question to view the answer, much like “View diff” when someone edits an answer.  A demo:

Step 1: I see a notification that there is a new answer

Step 2: I can see the answer without having to click on the question:

Histograms for survey questions

Consider any question whose answer summary would most likely be a list of items.  If so, turn the answer summary into a histogram so that users can just upvote existing items, or add a new entry.

Thanks for Jens Wuerfel’s post about these kind of ideas.

Tooltip to follow someone from the feed

Like the tooltip that appears when you hover over the topic, have the same control for people.

Review question and move on, in one click

To keep things moving along, I’d love to combine the Review Question action and Next Question actions.

Mute a question

As much as I love Mark Hughes’ answer about becoming Batman, I really don’t need to see every single time one of my connections upvotes it, just because I did four months ago.  I want to be able to block individual questions from my view (even if I follow them) because I’m just tired of seeing them.  As a power user, my feed is getting cluttered; just show me the new stuff.
